Trip Objectives

To spend time with Kato, learning more about his prison ministry and understanding the impact Midtown is having in Africa

To explore additional ways Midtown can participate with African Leadership and disciple our Nashville community

To leverage the disruption of international travel to learn elements of God we can more clearly see outside our own culture

10/14 - Travel to Gulu/Visit Gulu

10/15 - Travel to Entebbe AM

10/16 - Arrive in Nashville

FAQs

  • Required: Yellow Fever. Reserve your immunization HERE.

    Recommended: Covid -19, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Typhoid, Cholera, Rabies, Meningitis, Polio, Malaria (Our family does not take any malaria prevention medications. Only take if we contract malaria)

    Recommended: Traveller's Diarrhea prescription from health care provider. Azithromycin is what we use.

  • Guys: Pants, t-shirts, tennis shoes

    Girls: Pants, t-shirts, skirts, dresses (cover shoulders and knees to be culturally sensitive)

  • In addition to clothes:

    snacks (try to avoid snacks that could melt...again. hot)

    Hat/sunscreen

    power adapters (G adapter)

    cash for purchasing personal gifts

    poncho or rain jacket

    swim suit (it will be hot and hotel has a pool!)

    Workout clothes (hotel has decent gym)

  • You will only need cash for personal purchases and gifts. We recommend between $100-$500.

    Do know, credit cards are rarely a payment option.

  • 9/20/2024 Weather update... it is going to be HOT. Accuweather has it in the mid-90's everyday. We will have AC at all hotels (🙏)

    October is the spring season in Africa - it can rain occasionally and temps will be between 65-80 degrees during the day.

    It is possible we are without air conditioning at some of our hotel stays.

  • Uganda uses the G adapter. Please make sure you have enough for your devices.

    Phones will work great if you opt for an international plan.

    Hotel has decent wifi.

  • The total cost estimation for each person is $5,000. This includes all flights, food, transportation, hotels, and visas.
